Mr. Davis tells us the family of JOHN EDWARD INGRAM has been located.
I am searching for the family of two soldiers who was killed in the Korea War. When they entered service they gave Clinton County, Illinois as  their home of record.
Soldier: JOHN EDWARD INGRAM, Born: 1931 Caucasian, DOL October 28, 1952 KIA, RA17253220, A Co, 23 Inf Rgt, 2nd Inf Division
and
Soldier: RALPH LEONARD PARKS, Born: 1922 Caucasian, DOL July 20, 1950 POW, RA17160515, C Co, 19th Inf Rgt, 24th Inf Division
Highly Decorated

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. There are approximately 100 families from Illinois that have not been located. There are two families from Clinton County that have not been located.
When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (78 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find these families. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.
I will be grateful for any assistance in locating these families.

I am trying to locate some information on a Zadock Adams b. 1841, Illinois and his wife Malinda b. 1846 Illinois. I would like to know what year Zadock & Malinda passed away. I know the information on Mary Jane Adams, but I cannot find a thing on William Adams b. 1867 or his sister Emma b. abt 1870. I would appreciate any information or help on these relatives.

I also was wondering if there is a go site on Clinton's History, I understand that Centralia Illinois had a big strawberry industry in the 1800's, that is also the other things that interest me, topics on the county seat etc. Thank you.

I am looking for Death certificates, obituaries, immigration  information and anything else on the Heckert family.  My grandfather  was George William Heckert, and I have his generation's information.

His parents were Heinrich Friedrich Georg Heckert 1855 - 1901 in  Elkhorn Prairie, and Mary Hertenstein 1863 - 1939

Their parents were Balthasar Heinrich Heckert 1828 - 1858 - who died  being thrown from a horse on the 4th of July, and his wife was Lisette  Regina zur Oeveste - which is often spelled many different ways - 1830  - 1917.  She remarried Wilhelm Peters.

Wilhelm Hertenstein 1836 - 1920 and Friedericka Fleig 1842 - 1875 - I  know that both of these families came from Kippenheimweiler, Baden,  Germany.

Another generation is Johann Heinrich Zur Owest and Adeleide or  Adelheid Niemann 1792 - 1862

Balthasar Henrich Heckert abt 1793 - 1855 and Marie Elizabeth Voskamp  1794 - 1874

I really don't know where the Heckerts came from specifically in  Germany.  One census listed "Hessen", and another piece of info.  stated Mecklenburg and these are two completely different places.  ??

Also, Lisette Regina zur Oeveste's father was Johann Heinrich, and  there is much information on a Johann Heinrich zur Oeveste who  immigrated to Indiana and wrote lots of letters, but I don't think he  could be the same one after reading the letters.

My query is for any information on any of these families.  I'm pretty  new at all this and really appreciate your website and time.  Thanks!
